Star Alliance

On March 26, 2000, Austrian Airlines joined Star Alliance – the largest airline alliance in the world – to offer you even better flight connections and more comfortable travel. Founded in 1997, the global alliance includes 28 renowned airlines serving 1.330 destinations in 192 countries and offering access to over 1000 airport lounges around the world. With more than 18.500 daily flights operated (one aircraft taking off every five seconds), there are plenty of alternatives to choose from. Youngest member of Star Alliance is Avianca Brazil.

Take advantage of the world’s largest airline alliance. Star Alliance’s worldwide route network offers convenient and smooth travel across the globe. With every Star Alliance flight, you earn valuable miles that increase your status and let you enjoy many personal benefits: you enjoy worldwide access to lounges, additional baggage allowance, priority boarding as well as reservations and much more.

Star Alliance Awards – Book Award Flights
Booking award flights on the Star Alliance network has never been easier. All you need is a flight ticket, no matter which of the Star Alliance airlines you choose. And if you decide to upgrade on short notice: On 26 airlines, you can use your award miles to do so!

Smooth travel
At many airports, all Star Alliance airlines are located in the same terminal. This makes it quicker and more convenient for you to change planes. In addition, there is a common check-in area. Our Star Alliance Gold Card holders are served in an individual service area. Furthermore, you can check through flights smoothly, made possible by the worldwide cooperation of the numerous Star Alliance airlines.

Lounges
Are you a member of the Austrian Airlines Senator or HON Circle frequent flyer program? Then escape the hustle and bustle of everyday travel in the Star Alliance network with the world’s largest number of lounges.
