- Dieter Vranckx takes over as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines
as of 23 June - Former Chairman Till Streichert steps down from his mandate
- Veit Schmid-Schmidsfelden remains Deputy Chairman
At today’s extraordinary meeting of the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines Dieter Vranckx was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The previous Chairman, Till Streichert, stepped down from his mandate effective 22 June, 2026.
Dieter Vranckx had previously been elected to the Austrian Airlines Supervisory Board at today’s Annual General Meeting. Other members of the six-person board on the capital representatives’ side remain Veit Schmid-Schmidsfelden as Deputy Chairman, as well as Elisabeth Gruber and Hans‑Joachim Arnold. On the employees’ side, René Karl Pfister and Andreas Geldner continue to serve as delegates.
Dieter Vranckx (53) has been a member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG since
1 July, 2024, where he is responsible as Chief Commercial Officer of the Lufthansa Group for the entire commercial division. This includes the commercial customer offering, the customer journey, sales and distribution channels, marketing and the Group’s brand portfolio, the loyalty program, digital solutions, and the ITA integration. From 2021 until his appointment to the Executive Board, Dieter Vranckx was CEO of the Lufthansa Group airline SWISS. Prior to this he served as CFO (from 2018) and later as CEO of Brussels Airlines. From 2016 to 2018 Vranckx was Head of Sales & Marketing Lufthansa Group Airlines for the Asia-Pacific region. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions in network planning and sales at SWISS and Swiss WorldCargo. Dieter Vranckx holds a Master of Business Administration from Solvay Business School and is a Belgian and Swiss dual national.

Till Streichert (52) was appointed Chairman of the Austrian Airlines Supervisory Board on 23 August, 2024. Since 15 September, 2024, he has been a member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, responsible as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Group’s finance division.
