- Modern sound, real employees, and catchy rhythms with earworm potential that make you want to fly
- Austrian Airlines expands its “Fröhliche Flynachten” campaign with an in-house electro-pop Christmas song and music video
With beats instead of bells and flow instead of a traditional Christmas choir, Austrian Airlines is making a strong, contemporary statement in this year’s Christmas communications: as part of the 360° campaign “Fröhliche Flynachten”, the airline is going one step further and releasing an AI-generated Christmas song (lyrics and music) in electro-pop style – including a music video. The in-house content production team was responsible for the entire implementation, and employees from the company performed in front of the camera.
The song combines urban sounds with Christmas spirit and picks up on typical elements of flying: snowflakes on the window, red and white lights, turbine sounds, and the atmosphere at the gate merge with casual beats and catchy rhymes such as “Christmas becomes Flynachten.” The result is a modern Christmas track that authentically and surprisingly reinterprets the emotionality of traveling during the peak season.
“With the Flynachten song, we translate the energy of our teams into music and at the same time inspire people to fly with Austrian Airlines – directly, honestly, and with a lot of flow. With the song, we tell the story of Christmas from a fresh perspective and at the same time offer our employees a stage,” says Ingrid Gogl, Head of Brand & Communications at Austrian Airlines. “Especially during the busiest travel season, they demonstrate professionalism, warm hospitality, and charm every day, and sometimes a touch of humor is needed—and that’s exactly what we’ve packed into our Flynachten song.” The accompanying music video features cool moves, catchy rhythmic sounds, and real faces from the cabin, technical, and ground handling teams.
The Flynachten song is part of Austrian’s integrated 360° campaign and has been released on social media, digital channels, and internal platforms. With “Flynachten,” Austrian Airlines shows that Christmas can also have beats.
