Changes in the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines

  • Till Streichert and Elisabeth Gruber are new members of the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines
  • Till Streichert takes over as chairman, Veit Schmid-Schmidsfelden as deputy chairman

In today’s constitutive meeting of the supervisory board of Austrian Airlines, Till Streichert was elected as the chairman of the supervisory board, with Veit Schmid-Schmidsfelden as his deputy. The former supervisory board chairwoman, Christina Foerster, resigned from her position on 30 June, 2024, due to her professional change.

In addition to Till Streichert, Elisabeth Gruber was appointed as new supervisory board member at the ordinary general meeting on 23 August, 2024, replacing Christine Catasta. Furthermore, Till Streichert was elected as new member of the supervisory board, completing the six-member board since 15 September. Veit Schmid-Schmidsfelden and Hans-Joachim Arnold were reappointed as capital representatives on the supervisory board in the general meeting. On the employee side, René Karl Pfister and Andreas Geldner continue to be appointed.

The supervisory board members were appointed until the end of the general meeting, which decides on the discharge for the 2028 financial year.

Till Streichert: Effective 15 September, 2024, Till Streichert assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Deutsche Lufthansa AG. Prior to this, he served as the CFO of Amadeus IT Group based in Madrid, Spain. Over his more than 20-year career, he has worked in a variety of companies in various global leadership and financial management positions, including roles at T-Mobile UK, Boston Consulting Group, Vodafone Romania, and Vodacom Group in South Africa. Till Streichert holds a PhD in Philosophy and a master’s degree in Political Science and Philosophy from Leibniz University Hannover. He is married and has a daughter.

Elisabeth Gruber: Since July 2022, Elisabeth Gruber has been leading the Presidential Section at the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF), previously responsible for the “Participations and Services” group in the same ministry. The certified lawyer has decades of experience in the private sector, both domestically and internationally. Before joining the BMF, she worked at a renowned law firm in Vienna. Gruber studied law at the University of Vienna and business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. She has held various supervisory board positions for several years, including being a member of the supervisory board of the Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft m.b.H. and the deputy chairwoman of the supervisory board of Großglockner Hochalpenstraße AG.
