About 1.1 million passengers flew with Austrian Airlines in November 2019, comprising an increase of 3.1 percent from the prior-year month. The flight offering was up 3.6 percent. Revenue passenger kilometers climbed 5.9 percent. Capacity utilization of the flights equaled 78.0 percent on average in November 2019, an increase of 1.7 percentage points compared to the previous year. The number of flights operated by Austrian Airlines was reduced by 1.4 percent to 10,631.
“As of Christmas we will increase our flights to popular holiday destinations such as the Maldives and Mauritius”, says Austrian Airlines CCO Andreas Otto. “If you still need a Christmas present or want to escape the cold winter weather spontaneously, you will find the right offer here.” Due to the high demand, Austrian Airlines will serve both destinations with 3 flights per week from Christmas onwards for a longer period than before – the Maldives until the end of February, Mauritius until mid-April 2020. In the past years, additional flights to these destinations were mainly on offer during the Christmas holidays.
Austrian Airlines transported about 13.7 million passengers in the months from January to November 2019, comprising a rise of 5.2 percent from the previous year. The flight offering was up 2.9 percent. Revenue passenger kilometers climbed 4.8 percent compared to the first eleven months of 2018. Capacity utilization of the flights amounted to 81.1 percent, an increase of 1.5 percentage points. The number of flights operated by Austrian Airlines was up 3.1 percent to 129,361 compared to the prior-year period.
