Back to overviewPreparations for Commissioning of the New Austrian Star Alliance Terminal are in Full Swing
• Quick and convenient from check-in to boarding
• Six new lounges
• Minimum transfer time of 25 minutes
In a few days it will be ready: the new Austrian Star Alliance Terminal will open its doors on June 5, 2012. “The Austrian Airlines employees are working at full steam on the preparations necessary to ensure the smooth transfer of flight operations to the new Austrian Star Alliance Terminal“, explains Austrian Airlines CEO Jaan Albrecht. “The new Austrian Star Alliance Terminal should turn out to be a significant product improvement for our customers.”
Starting on June 5th flights of Austrian Airlines will start from the new Austrian Star Alliance Terminal Check-in 3. The new terminal which covers an area of 150,000 m² offers even more service and comfort for passengers arriving in, departing from or transferring in Vienna. The modern architecture creates a pleasant atmosphere on the basis of spacious and very well-lit rooms and offers a direct large scale view out into the open of the aircraft on the airport ramp.
Austrian Airlines will also open six new lounges offering more than 2,000 m² of space, merging modern furnishings and design with Austrian coziness and hospitality. Moreover, central security checks and clearly arranged paths will save the passengers time, so that they will be able to enjoy the extensive shopping offering and cuisine in the new terminal or make themselves comfortable in the designated rest areas.
Transfer times in the Austrian Star Alliance Terminal will remain minimal. The short minimum transfer time of 25 minutes is made possible by a three-level concept, in which passengers only change the airport terminal level they are on but do not have to transfer to a completely different terminal.
