Austrian Takes Leading Placings at World Airlines Awards 2010

Carrier placed second in Best Business Class Catering and Staff Service Excellence Europe categories

Austrian Airlines has been awarded top placings at the World Airlines Awards 2010. More than 18 million passengers from over 100 countries took part in the world’s largest passenger survey, voting Austrian Airlines amongst the top three carriers. Austrian’s second place in the Best Business Class Catering category highlights the exclusive DO&CO inflight service. Austrian Airlines was the only European airline to be placed in the top three. Austrian Airlines also took second place in the Staff Service Excellence Europe category, which means that Austrian Airlines are number two in Europe here.

Austrian Member of the Executive Board Andreas Bierwirth said the following: “We are very pleased to be able to enjoy these top placings with our members of staff. Our levels of quality and service are amongst the highest in the world. Our flight attendants and exclusive DO&CO service make us unmistakeable compared to the international competition.”

Skytrax, an opinion research institute specialising in the aviation industry, has been conducting this survey since 1999.
