Environmental protection is part and parcel of the corporate objectives of Austrian Airlines. In the aviation sector, it is unavoidable for resources to be consumed and emissions produced. For this reason we are doing anything to minimize our impact on the environment. In recent years we could record a range of successes in this regard.

We have been reducing our CO2 emissions within the last years. We have succeeded in reducing our hazardous waste volumes, introduced energy saving concepts in various fields and steadily renewed our fleet. This reduces emissions and noise pollution further.

Environmental protection will continue to be a priority at the Austrian Airlines of the future. The company’s efforts are particularly concentrated on:

• Reducing emissions: through technical and operational measures.
• Decrease noise exposure: we continue to cooperate with a range of partners to reduce noise levels further.
• Corporate environmental management: we are optimising our waste volumes, material flows and energy consumption.
